Adams Ave. Bikes invites you to our Bicycle Maintainance Classes!

  • Eliminate the fear of being stranded due to mechanical Breakdowns.
  • Improve your riding capabilities on a well-tuned bike.
  • Make roadside repairs easy.
  • Discover the best products for you and your bike.
  • All Classes are 2-2.5 hrs.
  • You will be working with you own bike.
  • All students receive a 10% discount on all parts and accessories.
  • This Clinic is a series of three classes. Join us for one or all three.

Class #1: If you can ride it, you can fix it!

Time/Date/Location: Wednesdays, 6:45pm, 2606 Adams Ave. SD, Ca. 92116

Cost: $35

Learn bike anatomy, use of basic tools/ lubricants, flat tire repair, bike cleaning, and identifying common problems. No prior knowledge needed.

Class #2: Tune-up Perfection!

Time/Date/Location: Mondays, 6:45pm, 2606 Adams Ave. SD, Ca. 92116

Cost: $35

Learn to make fine adjustments of components like brakes, derailleurs, shifting, bearing adjustments, basic wheel truing. Please talk to Noah about which class is appropriate to you level of knowledge.

Class #3: Advanced Bike Repair

By Appointment

Cost: $45

Learn advanced component adjustment, wheel care/operations, bearing service/removal/install: Get to use all all the special tools!

T.O.P. Wrap-up

Over a week later, my legs, lungs, and oxygen-starved brain finally are coming back to papa. It’s no joke; the name lives up as described, for no amount training could ever prepare for the amount of pain I encountered.
For anyone to say Navy is NOT competetive has no idea of the frothed-mouthed, eye-of-the-tiger, one-upsmanship that occurs when the top half of Navy E.O.D. Brass sets aside a week to have a
“friendly ” ride.
A big ups to the civilians who made it through the ordeal with their honor intact; we are, after all talking about the Navy.
All joking aside, a better week could not be spent with a nicer group.
Finally, my award to the bravest of the trip goes to my roommate, Rich, who can now go anywhere in the world, smell the most pungent odors, and know he has experienced much worse.

Word on the street is that no racing of any kind will be tolerated, and Navy has no interest in bragging rights. Thus, I resolve to ride the whole event in my small ring, make sure I don’t exceed 20mph, and only bring one bottle of water per day.

A neighborhood like ours is well timed….so well timed that the Bike to Work Pit stop is pretty low key in the morning. This means only one thing; our bike commuters have the morning ride timed to perfection! Thus, the Adams Ave Bikes Afterwork Afterparty!
